,My biggest piece of advice is to go into recruitment at UT with an OPEN MINDI cannot stress this enoughplease try not to listen to other girls and thier opinions of the houses, especially if they are negative. You also hear Kappa Kappa Gammas described as popular and sometimes (but not always) smart and classy. Pi Beta Phi girls (Pi Phis) are considered by most to be top-tier but also have a reputation as fake and superficial. I see changes over time in AXiD and think they're not going to stay down for much longer. Overall Theta competes with Pi Phi and Kappa (less with Kappa in the past couple of years with their suspension for hazing and having to snap bid like twenty five girls a few years back). The Kappas aren't rich like the Pi Phis and Thetas. Good luck!

The University of Texas at Austin is home to more than 65 national fraternity and sorority chapters. Most likely the girl that says she will only go XYZ or AB will be cut by those two houses and she will either eat crow or drop out. All of our chapters are unique, so women have been able to find chapters suited to their needs. Everyone knows at least one KD they really like and one KD they really hate. While some have strong national cultures across all chapters, there are bound to be differences from one university or college to another. Maybe because of the money they bring with them, their houses tend to be one of the nicest on campus. Zeta Tau Alpha tends to be far more popular in the South than elsewhere in the country. Upper Middle Tier: Alpha Phi Because these girls are perceived to be confident, you will find some quirky and offbeat members among them and plenty who dont care what other sororities think. Some would consider Kappa top house at UT. They are incredibly happy there and I was shocked frankly that they rushed to begin with. To stereotype any organization and the members a part of these organizations is belittling of what these organization were founded on.
